House of reps clears N-deal, all eyes on US Senate now

Washington DC: The US House of Representatives cleared the much-debated Indo-US nuclear deal early on September 28 — a day that would go down as a red letter day in Indian history. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh could hardly contain his elation as the deal was passed with a majority voting 298 to 117 in favour of the bill, ending India's three decades of US ban on nuclear fuel trade with India.
