The face of Gandhigiri, Sanjay Dutt, bagged the critic's award for Best Actor, and his faithful onscreen sidekick Arshad Warsi was rewarded for his supporting role. The film also picked up awards for Best Story and Best Dialogue.
Lage Raho Munnabhai's feat was matched by Omkara which also received five awards.
Saif Ali Khan's performance as Langda Tyagi in the movie got him the Best Actor in Negative Role award.
The smoking hot song of the year, Beedi, got the Best Female Playback award for Sunidhi Chauhan and Best Lyrics award for Gulzar.
The father-son duo of Rakesh and Hrithik Roshan bagged two awards - the Best Action film award and Best Actor award for Hrithik for the film Krrish.
Nagesh kulkunoor's sensitive film Dor won honours for Ayesha takia who was adjudged the Best Actress, and to Shreyas Talpade, who won the Best Actor in Comic Role.
But it was not just about fresh talent. Mala Sinha and Vidhjit were honoured with Life time Achievement awards for their contribution to Indian films.
