Mumbai: Director and legendary actor Dev Anand is really excited about his latest film and he is compiling an eclectic mix of sounds for his forthcoming release Chargesheet. After a gap of 28 years, Dev Anand brings in Asha bhosle's tang to the film's soundtrack and he recorded another song with singer Shanker Mahadevan at Purple Haze studio in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. “We really struggled for the lyrics of this song and finally when it was there we were in a fix thinking who will sing the song for us. But finally we decided that Shankar should sing this song,” says the legend. “It is a wonderful Sufi melody and it is got a quawali touch to it. It is more than a honour to be a part of his project,” says composer-singer Shankar Mahadevan. For Shankar, meeting the legend for the first time was a nerve wracking affair. “I was a bit nervous for a while but when I met him he broke the ice, we saw each other and then hugged each other,” shares Shankar. Composed by UK based singer-composer Raja Kanif, this Sufi number is something the makers vouch for.
