New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday took suo motu cognizance of the sting operation aired by a television channel in the long-drawn BMW hit-and-run case and asked for all records related to the case by June 11. 
 
A High Court division bench comprising Chief Justice M K Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Khanna directed the Registrar General of High Court to collect all the records related to the case and file the report before the court by June 11. 
 
Meanwhile, the Patiala House court also ordered probe into the sting operation and asked DCP of south (Delhi) to be present before court at 1700 hrs (IST) on Thursday. 
 
"Assistance of DCP (South) is required, so let him be called at 5 pm today for conducting an inquiry into the sting operation," the court said after Special Public Prosecutor I U Khan sought a probe in this regard. 
 
The court also directed all reporters involved in the sting to appear in court and asked 
them to bring un-edited copies and footage of the investigation. 
 
Public prosecutor I U Khan – who was removed from the case by Delhi Police - was relieved of his duties by the court following his plea that he wanted to withdraw from the case. 
 
"Kulkarni and I did not talk of money, lawyers or Nanda. When I asked him to meet bade saheb I meant the police not R K Nanda," said Khan. 
 
Advocate Rajeev Mohan took over as the new prosecutor in the case.
