New Delhi: Suspended Haryana cadre IAS officer Sanjeev Kumar's alleged plan to get his friend killed has been foiled by the Delhi Police Crime Branch. Sanjeev Kumar had allegedly the plan from inside the Tihar Jail while he was in judicial custody in connection with the Junior Basic Teachers recruitment scam .
The motive behind the plan was to kill his close friend with whom 1985 batch IAS officer has a property dispute. He planned to get himself injured in the fight in order to get bail.
According to the plan, the blame would then be put on Haryana's Chautala family for the attack on himself and his friend.
Kumar conspired the murder plan with gangsters Shoukat Pasha and two shooters Taufiq and Manna.
The Delhi High Court had upheld the conviction of former Haryana chief minister OP Chautala, his son Ajay and 53 others in the JBT scam. The court has taken a strong note in the case, saying Chautala was the chief minister and he should have set a high standard.
OP Chautala, his son Ajay and eight others had been awarded 10 years jail term for illegally recruiting 3,000 junior teachers in the year 2000.
All of them were held guilty of cheating, forgery, using fake documents as genuine, conspiracy under IPC and for abusing their official position under Prevention of Corruption Act.
