The Big Debate: PM Condemns Vandalism of Statues, But Are Cadres Listening?

Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned vandalism of Lenin and Periyar statues in Tripura and Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, a flurry of reactions came in from his supporters who said that they don't agree with the Prime Minister. They even went on to say that they don’t feel what happened in Tripura or Tamil Nadu was vandalism. Some of them also said that there is bound to be collision on the ground while the Left commentators said that the PM's condemnation is an eyewash and his supporters will always have a free run to do what they did. Can we place the rule of law and the country above political ideology?
