Kerala's biggest temple festival, the Thrissur Pooram, may have to go this year with one of its most iconic images - the one eyed celebrity jumbo named 'Thechikottukavu Ramachandran', who has claimed 13 lives so far. That's if a ban order put out by the state government has its way. The Chief Wildlife Warden's report states that Kerala's most loved elephant's presence at the Thrissur Pooram is nothing short of danger. There's a distinct backlash to the move though among one section that says an age old tradition is being tampered with.
