It’s a countdown now to a showdown at Sabarimala after the all-party meet called by the Kerala govt failed to reach a consensus and ended in a stalemate. The government stresses that the SC order allowing women of all age groups into the shrine is uppermost. The opposition hits out saying the government has declared virtual war on the devotee. Activists say they will ensure that no woman enters the shrine, even as they claim protests will only by ‘Gandhian’ in nature. Will politics and protests overtake the shrine’s sanctity? Or will women’s right to pray be respected as the 41-day Mandalam season is set to get underway at Sabarimala. CNN-NEWS18’s Anand Narasimhan is live from Sabarimala.
