Tololing, situated at a height of 16000 ft plus was one of the toughest battles fought during the Kargil War. By the summer of 1999 Pakistan had occupied the heights overlooking the national highway and thus delayed India's offensive. The fight back by the Indian army was as bloody as daring. India lost 23 brave men but managed to occupy Tololing. For the first time in 20 years a media team was given access to Tololing.
