Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said twin train tragedy occurred due to rains as the railway tracks were flooded. "I thank the people who helped. Villagers who informed the authorities and helped in the rescue operation. Most of the operation was conducted overnight. The state government will give compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the deceased's family, Rs 50,000 for seriously injured and Rs 10,000 for minor injuries," said Chouhan.
