Patients seeking medical treatment are in for a harrowing time, with doctors set to go on a 24 hour strike early tomorrow morning. The Indian Medical Association has said it will go ahead with its 24-hour strike call for closure of all non-essential services including OPDs from 6 am on Monday to 6 am on Tuesday. It however said emergency and casualty services will continue to function. In the backdrop of the attacks on doctors in Kolkata, the apex medical body has demanded a comprehensive central law in dealing with violence on doctors and healthcare staff, and in hospitals.
