It's been a hundred days of protests in Tuticorin for the closure of the Sterlite Copper plant. But today, the protests took a deadly turn. At least 11 people were killed after police opened fire on them. They had taken to the streets to protest for their right to breathe and clean water. Footage accessed by CNN-News18 shows how a cop in plainclothes stood on top of a police van with an assault rifle, took aim and opened fire on protesters. All this while the Tamil Nadu government has been maintaining that police had no option but to open fire.
