India is talking about the Fitness Challenge. Within two days of the Modi government launching a national fitness challenge, there has been a tremendous response. From Modi's own ministers to sports stars to Bollywood actors, all have accepted the Fitness Challenge. Last evening, India’s cricket captain Virat Kohli posted a video of him accepting the Fitness Challenge by doing spider planks, he forward tagged three people, including the Prime Minister, to carry on the dare. Today, Narendra Modi responded by saying 'challenge accepted'. He also promised to share his own fitness video soon. But what was simply a mission to make India fitter, quickly took a political turn as the opposition gave its take on the fitness campaign. Congress President Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav both threw up challenges of their own to the Prime Minister — a challenge to reduce fuel prices and to create jobs. Another person to add his own tongue and cheek spin to the Fitness Challenge was Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who tweeted an image which read, “If running on a treadmill was the only way to recharge our phones, we would be the healthiest on the planet.” What did he mean by this? Let's ask the man himself.
