The debate over Kannada pride has been revived in Karnataka after CM Kumaraswamy proposed making English the medium of instruction in government schools. The move was met with stiff resistance from several quarters. The CM buckled and now says English will only be taught as a language and would not be the medium of instruction, as originally planned. The question we're asking tonight is why is education getting caught in this English versus Kannada fight.
