Ajmer Dargah blast convict Bhavesh Patel was given a hero's welcome as he returned to his hometown of Bharuch in Gujarat after getting bail. Three people were killed in the 2007 terror attack, but Patel was greeted with flowers and fireworks while office bearers of the BJP and VHP cheered. This isn't the first time we are seeing our politicians openly endorse criminal activity. Union Minister Jayant Sinha came under a lot of fire for garlanding eight men convicted of lynching. Is honouring convicts the new way to score political points?
