After Padmaavat, Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika - based on Rani Lakshmi Bai's life - faces fringe fury over alleged distortion of facts. The Sarva Brahman Mahasabha - a Brahmin group has raised objections against the film. They have demanded that the state govt should ask for an affidavit from the director & producers saying that there is nothing objectionable on Rani Laxmibai in the film. Meanwhile, the Congress' link to the protests has been exposed as Suresh Mishra, the state secretary of the Congress’ Rajasthan unit as well as the founder president of the Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha were found to be involved.
