UP CM Yogi Adityanath said Ramayan and Bhagwad Gita represent the Indian culture and not the Taj Mahal, so one wasn’t really surprised when an MLA from his state, Sangeet Som, who is an accused in the Muzaffarnagar riots case, called Taj Mahal a blot and a monument built by traitors. Coming just weeks after the UP government removed Taj Mahal from the UP tourism booklet, there seems to be a concerted effort at rewriting history.
