New Delhi: The situation is getting worse for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). After two of its high profile leaders Shazia Ilmi and Captain G R Gopinath quit the AAP, one more high profile leader Anjali Damania is reportedly upset and planning to quit. Anjali Damania, who lost the Lok Sabha election to BJP leader Nitin Gadkari from Nagpur in Maharashtra, is keeping quiet. She has declined to comment on the rumours on that she has already quit the party.
However, AAP member Ashutosh has said that Damania is with the party and is not angry with the party.
This even as her party colleague Mayank Gandhi has tweeted saying that she is an asset and should not be allowed to quit the AAP.
His tweet in the morning on Thursday has set off speculation that Anjali Damania has resigned from all party posts. Mayank Gandhi tweeted, "Anjali is a great asset to the nation. We must convince her to continue to lead Maharashtra AAP"
However there is no confirmation of this either from the party or from Damania.
Earlier, Captain Gopinath and Sazia Ilmi had quit and Yogendra Yadav and Naveen Jaihind also had offered to resign from party posts. Yogendra Yadav and Naveen Jaihind's resignations have not been accepted by AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
The AAP National Executive will meet on Friday and Saturday and Damania is expected to attend the meeting. Apart from this, the National Executive could be restructured and expanded.
