New Delhi: A week after the murder of real estate tycoon and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Deepak Bhardwaj, the Delhi Police nabbed the alleged contract killers and two others on Monday. They will be produced in a court on Tuesday, but the police continue to evade the big questions about the motive and the mastermind behind the murder.
On Monday, the alleged killers Sunil and Purushottam made an attempt to surrender. But while Purushotam was arrested even before he could enter the Patiala House Court in New Delhi, the magistrate refused to hear Sunil's plea.
Delhi Police said the recovery of the car used by the killers led to the arrests. The owner of the car and driver were arrested earlier. On Sunday, a lookout notice was issued against the other two.
However, now that all those who were involved in the operation of killing Deepak Bhardwaj have been apprehended, the the bigger question is who is behind the murder? While police officially maintain a silence, sources indicate the needle of suspicion is on some of the close family members.
The police have questioned family members regularly for the past four days. On Sunday the elder son was questioned for over five hours.
