New Delhi: Top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) including newly elected party president Rajnath Singh met RSS leaders in the capital for the first time after the BJP presidential crisis, which led to Rajnath being made the party chief.

Also present at the meeting were party leaders Sushma Swaraj and LK Advani and RSS leaders Dattatreya Hosbole, Bhaiyyaji Joshi and Suresh Soni to discuss the party's strategy for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

After the meeting, Rajnath Singh clarified that there is no rift with the RSS. "There is no question of any rift with the RSS, we did not discuss BJP leadership issue today," said Rajnath.

Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena has asked the BJP to clarify its stand on its Prime Ministerial candidate before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday said that the NDA should decide its candidate in advance. Uddhav reiterated in party mouthpiece 'Saamna' that late Bal Thackeray had suggested Sushma Swaraj's name for the post and that if there are other candidate as well, all names should be discussed.
