Bangalore: Strengthening 'brand' Narendra Modi ahead of Lok Sabha elections, the BJP unit of Karnataka on Saturday launched 'Chaiwala My PM' campaign in the southern state.

The state unit has initiated the campaign as a branding strategy using Modi's background as a tea-seller as its USP.

BJP workers on Saturday set up a tea stall in the heart of Bangalore city and distributed 'Modi Chai' to the public.

Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu was also present at the event and was seen distributing tea to the people. Over 200 such tea stalls will be set up across the state in the run up to the general elections polls to build Brand Narendra Modi.

The state BJP has come up with this innovative idea after senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar publicly ridiculed Narendra Modi's background as a tea seller in New Delhi last month.

According to state BJP spokesperson S Prakash, the BJP wants to expose the class prejudice of the Congress by opening Modi tea stalls across Karnataka.
