New Delhi: In a major setback or the Aam Aadmi Party ahead of Assembly elections in Delhi, MS Dhir, who was the Speaker of the last Delhi Assembly, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday.
The former AAP MLA was denied a ticket this time. "I was unhappy with AAP as they were given an opportunity by the people of Delhi to clean the system but they failed in their job. There is no democracy in the party," Dhir told reporters.
Dhir said he was impressed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's work and was sure that the Delhi BJP would do well under Modi's leadership and guidance.
The Delhi BJP which could not form a government in Delhi despite being the single largest party in the Assembly is more than happy to have Dhir on board.
Dhir was elected Legislator from south Delhi's Jangpura constituency.
