Chennai: DMK chief M Karunanidhi has attacked BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi saying there is no Modi wave in Tamil Nadu. While addressing an election meeting, he said "I don't see a Modi wave in Tamil Nadu. I won't deny the fact that the BJP government at the Centre will be dangerous to the country. Sangh Parivar leaders are creating an atmosphere for another communal violence in the country and my opinion is we want a secular government at the Centre."
Karunanidhi had earlier praised Modi but retracted it later. Some DMK leaders are, however, indicating that Karunanidhi may back the NDA government at the Centre.
According to political analysts, since his arch rival and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is playing a secular card to consolidate Muslim votes behind her, Karunanidhi is also playing a secular card by attacking Modi and the BJP.
