New Delhi: An under pressure Salman Khurshid has cancelled his Haj trip but the Law Minister insists that his recent comments on activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal were not a threat and he has not embarrassed his party. Speaking to CNN-IBN, the Union Law Minister denied threatening Kejriwal saying his entire clip was not shown by the media.

"You didn't have the full clip. The full flip starts with 'Bismil sarfaroshi ki tammana’ and ends with Robert Frost's the woods are lovely, dark and deep. In between could I have threatening anyone?" Khurshid said. He also asserted that he would not resign over the issue, and denied any wrongdoing saying, "If you think that if my party is unhappy with me, then you will not see me in the government five days from now. I'm not in isolation from my party. My party is part of me and I am a part of my party."

Khurshid also said that he has not embarrassed his party. "Have I embarrassed you? Have I behaved in a manner that embarrasses you in the media? After all you people meet me and talk to me, have I embarrassed you?," he told CNN-IBN.

According to reports, Khurshid had threatened Kejriwal, saying till now he has been wielding a pen and "it is time to replace ink with blood". He said, "I was made the Law Minister and asked to wield a pen…now it is time to replace it with blood." Launching a scathing attack on the IAC member, the Law Minister said, "Let him (Kejriwal) come to Farrukhabad, but how will he go back...Kejriwal says he will ask the questions and asks us to give the answers, you have heard what we have to say, you will forget the questions."

Reacting to Khurshid's threat, Kejriwal had tweeted, "Mr Salman Khurshid has threatened me. The language that he has used does not suit the Law Minister of the country. Killing me won't help as the whole country has woken up. Hundreds of other Kejriwals will rise. Rather than threatening like this, it would be better that Congress sensed the anger of the people and took some concrete steps against corruption."

A TV sting operation had revealed certain irregularities in the usage of funds at the NGO run by Khurshid's wife Louise for the differently-abled, the Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust. IAC activists also accused the duo of not organising health camps in 10 of the 17 districts they had demanded funds from the Centre for.
