New Delhi: The Indian National Congress is busy mounting pressure on the Lok Sabha Speaker over the Leader of Opposition (LoP) issue. Senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily on Tuesday said, "How can the government manage the next five years without a LoP? It is an embarrassment to the Speaker and also to the government." 
 
Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan said she will not comment on aspersions being cast against her by the Congress. "I have got Congress party's letter and we are deliberating. I can't comment if the Congress makes any allegations outside House. My attempt is to give all parties a chance on the floor of House and be impartisan," said Mahajan. 
 
Information &amp; Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said, "It's unfortunate for Congress to cast aspersions on the Speaker. If people have not given 55 seats to Congress, how is the government to be blamed?" 
 
Meanwhile, the Centre is busy with the process of appointment of Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC). As per rules, the appointment of the CVC and VC is done by the President on the basis of recommendation of a three- member selection committee headed by Prime Minister and comprising Home Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
