Mumbai: Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena is set to block traffic on all national highways in Maharashtra on Wednesday as part of an agitation against toll tax. Thackeray has now asked his party workers not to vandalise.
50 MNS workers from Navi Mumbai, 33 from Vasai, 100 from Nashik and 50 from Thane have been taken into preventive custody. Security has been tightened across the state, especially at toll booths. 250 policemen have been deployed outside Raj Thackeray's residence in Dadar in Mumbai.
The MNS has said that even though the government has said that it is open to talks, the party wants a time-bound programme.
On Tuesday, MNS workers had vandalised yet another toll booth at Uran in Maharashtra.
Thackeray is already facing multiple cases for instigating his party cadre to vandalise toll booths across the state.
