Jhansi: Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi took a dig at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of talking only about his family and emotional issues and not about the problems plaguing India. Modi, who mockingly called the Congress MP "shahzade" (prince), pointed to Rahul's election speeches in the last couple of days and claimed that they were full of anecdotes and sacrifices made by his ancestors who were also responsible for India's myriad problems. 
 
"I will not talk about emotions," said Modi, referring to Rahul's speeches where he talked about the assassinations of his grandmother Indira Gandhi and his father Rajiv Gandhi, both of whom had been prime ministers of India. 
 
Questioning why Rahul remains silent on riots that took place when the Congress was in power, Modi said, "Rahul Gandhi only says he was angry when his grandmother Indira Gandhi was killed. Were you angry when thousands of Sikhs were killed in 1984?" He said that Rahul belonged to the Congress which was heading the ruling coalition at the Centre but did not even once touch of corruption, price rise and rising crime during his speeches. 
 
The Gujarat strongman also questioned the credibility of Rahul's statement on the alleged role of Pakistan's ISI in Muzaffarnagar riots. "Rahul Gandhi claimed that some Muslims were in touch with the ISI. He should make their names public. Can such leaders be trusted? Is the Congress government a news agency and is its role only to give news. The government should tackle the ISI," he said. He also questioned how can Rahul, who is just a MP and has not been administered the oath of office and secrecy, be getting information from intelligence agencies. 
 
Modi also attacked the Samajwadi Party, the Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party for the lack of development in Bundelkhand. While recalling the area's contribution during the 1857 First War of Independence, Modi asked why the region was lagging behind in spite of its glorious legacy. 
 
This he said was due to the neglect of regional party's - Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party, which, he claimed, have joined hands with the UPA government at the Centre in siphoning off the money meant for the region's development. 
 
Modi, who is also Gujarat chief minister, accused both Akhilesh Yadav-led Uttar Pradesh government and former chief minister and BSP chief Mayawati of not using the Bundelkhand package adding that this was not the case in BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh where Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan used it in an effective manner. 
 
"Time has come to send the SP government in UP and Congress-led government at the Centre packing. In Madhya Pradesh too Bundelkhand package was given and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan utilised it in a fair manner," said Modi. 
 
Modi questioned why Bundelkhand is still "very backward despite the economic package" and alleged that both the SP and BSP governments have joined hands with the Congress government at the Centre to "pocket the money meant for them" even as farmers continue to commit suicides. 
 
"The UP government and Centre have ignored Bundlekhand. Bundelkhand package was not for the development of the region but for the leaders of UP. Bundlekhand farmers have been ignored and committed suicide in large numbers," he said. 
 
He said that lack of developmental opportunities was forcing the people of UP and Bihar to migrate to states like Gujarat. "Youngsters from Bundelkhand have been forced to migrate to Gujarat and Mumbai. My state Gujarat has progressed due to the hard work of people from Bihar, UP and Bundelkhand. If the youngsters of Bundelkhand, Bihar and UP had been allowed to work hard in their states, then these states would have also developed," he said. 
 
Modi said that India has seen 60 years of misgovernance by the Congress and now it was time to give opportunity to BJP. "Give the BJP just 60 moths and we will make India a better place," he said and added that the time has come to make India Congress-free.
