New Delhi: Oil Minister Veerappa Moily has justified the high gas rates that Reliance Industries Limited is charging the government for CNG. Moily wrote to the Prime Minister saying that gas fields will not be available if the prices are lowered.
Moily's response came hours after the Aam Aadmi Party wrote to Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi asking why no action had been taken in the matter.
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal had filed a case against RIL demanding that its contract on oil field KG-D6 be terminated, citing a conspiracy between the company and the UPA government to raise gas prices. Moily today made it clear this could not be done.
