Lucknow: The Mulayam Singh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday decided not to convene the Assembly on January 15 and approved the Governor's decision to prorogue the House. The UP Cabinet decided to issue a fresh notification to convene the House at a later date. The Cabinet met three times on Wednesday and decided to re-convene the monsoon session of the Assembly on January 15, but Mulayam has now decided to accept Governor T V Rajeshwar’s decision. "We have received Governor's letter approving the January 3 Cabinet decision recommending prorogation of the assembly. A new session of the assembly will be convened at a later date,'' said Mulayam. Revenue Minister Ambika Chaudhary said the state government had discharged its constitutional obligation by accepting Governor's decision to prorogue the session. The Cabinet decision came after two more Rastriya Lok Dal ministers resigned from the state government.
