New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has written to the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding a threat call asking him to leave the saffron party.

The call has been traced to Dubai. The caller identified himself as 'Bhai' and asked Naqvi to quit the BJP as he was a Muslim.

The phone call was made on December 16. Sources tell CNN-IBN security has been tightened for Naqvi and other Muslim leaders following the threat.
