Chennai: On the second day of his visit to Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will meet DMK chief Karunanidhi on Monday. He met CM Jayalalithaa on Sunday.
This is the the Prime Minister's first visit to the southern state after the Jayalalithaa-led AIADMK took over the reins in May.
The DMDK plans to stage a black flag protest against the Prime Minister, alleging the Centre's bias against Tamil Nadu on the Mullaperiyar dam.
The Koodankulam nuclear power project is also another issue which is a bone of contention between the state and central government. The food security bill is also likely to be discussed.
The PM will also inaugurate the Ramanujam Block at the Madras University hall.
Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is reportedly sore with the federal government for not heeding her requests for financial assistance and additional power and kerosene allocation to the state.
