New Delhi: In a rare gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday ate lunch in the Parliament canteen.
Sources said the PM was accompanied by two MPs from Gujarat to the canteen, which serves highly subsidised food for the MPs, journalists and Parliament staff.
The sources said the PM ordered a veg thali with spinach, salad, pulses and curry vegetable. The PM paid Rs 29 for his lunch.
Far from eating in the canteen, rarely as any PM even visited the canteen. Even the Ministers are rarely seen eating meals in the canteen. Modi's visit and too to eat lunch makes the event rare.
