Chennai: A case has been registered against former telecom minister A Raja's brother, A Kaliaperumal in Tamil Nadu's Perambalur for allegedly bribing the voters. Kaliaperumal was arrested and later released on bail.
According to some reports Kaliaperumal misused the vehicle allotted to an Independent candidate to campaign for the Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) nominee. The case has been registered in Perambalur.
Monday is the last day of campaigning in Tamil Nadu, which will vote on April 13 to elect a new Assembly.
The ruling DMK-Congress alliance is facing a tough fight from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) which has tied up with Vijaykanth's Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK).
The counting of votes will take place on May 13.
