Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court has extended the stay on a CID probe into the case against Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal by another three weeks. The case has been transferred to Chief Justice's bench court.
Earlier, the TMC had appealed against a single bench order to transfer the case to the CID. Tapas Pal had created a massive outrage after his comments of shooting and raping opposition members.
Tapas Pal had said that party workers would be sent to rape women from the Opposition. Addressing a rally in West Bengal in May, Tapas Pal had said that he would not spare anyone who tried to challenge him. His speech has sparked massive outrage across party lines.
