New Delhi: The war of words between Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi just got interesting. At a rally in Hazaribagh in Jharkhand, Modi took on Rahul for his 'toffee' remark on Monday whereby Rahul said that the Gujarat model of development was a 'toffee' model of development. Rahul accused Modi of giving lands to Adani for Rupee 1 and loans to Tata at 1 per cent interest rate.
Rahul said that for one rupee, one can only buy a toffee these days. "This is the toffee model of development." he said.
Reacting, Modi said, "I never had toffee in my mind, but I had trophies in my mind. We have won over 300 trophies, be it from India or the world."
"I think he got tired of balloons, so now it's toffee," Modi said, referring to Rahul's recent remark on the Gujarat model of development, comparing it to a big balloon filled with nothing but air that will burst. Modi continued his attack on Rahul, saying, "I have passed the age of playing with balloons and toffees."
