Ghaziabad: Former Army chief and BJP leader General VK Singh created history on Friday by winning by a margin of 5.67 lakh votes in Ghaziabad. The number stands tall as the second highest after Narendra Modi's margin in Vadodra. Speaking to CNN-IBN, General Singh said that he owes the victory to Modi.
"We owe it to Modi's leadership. And me being an Army personnel, the people knew I was not in for cheap tactics," General Singh said when asked what had worked in his favour this election.
Speculation is rife that General VK Singh may be made a Minister of State in the Defence Ministry. When asked about this, General VK Singh said, "Whatever they hand over to me, I will carry out my responsibility."
General Singh gave the credit for BJP's magical performance in Uttar Pradesh to Modi and Amit Shah. "Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the Parliamentary board finely executed this win," he said.
