Ukraine, having recently obtained battle tanks from the West, is now seeking to acquire fourth-generation fighter jets such as the American F-16. Ukrainian officials have been advocating for these jets since last year, as they currently rely on a fleet of outdated Soviet-era fighters to confront Russia. In March, the Ukrainian air force publicly called for NATO countries to provide them with F-15 and F-16 jets. Despite the West's concerns about violating Russia's "red lines," Ukraine remains optimistic that their allies will ultimately agree to their request.
