Ukraine has reportedly tried to persuade three Russian pilots to defect along with their Russian military planes. A Ukrainian volunteer reportedly had a conversation with the three pilots, persuading them to defect along with their planes. A Ukrainian volunteer claimed that he got in touch with three Russian military pilots and tried to lure them by sending them money. The Ukrainian volunteer said he used his own money for the operation, even though Ukraine’s SBU was involved in the later stages. The Ukrainian volunteer was motivated after Kyiv announced compensation to any Russian who gave up the Kremlin’s military hardware. The Ukrainian volunteer said that his team realised the FSB was involved when a Russian pilot changed his tone during the conversation.
