India must commit to end its dependence on coal as a source of energy and focus on solar options, said Kumi Naidoo, executive director of Greenpeace International. "I think what we will see in Paris is the declaration of burying coal, it will not happen tomorrow but here they will send the signal that we need to get off coal. India has the ability to be leader in solar and they shouldn't invest in coal industry which hurts people who lives around coal plants, why to invest when it will be dead. Study shows it is in our capability to make the transition to clean energy as 100%," said Naidoo.
