Saudi Arabia reportedly plans to host a China-Arab summit on Dec. 9 during President Xi Jinping’s visit to the kingdom. As per reports, Xi is scheduled to arrive in Riyadh on Dec. 7 to further cement China’s growing ties with the Middle East. The visit also comes at a time of mounting Saudi-US tensions over oil and concerns over growing Chinese clout. The Chinese delegation is expected to sign dozens of agreements and memoranda of understanding with Arab countries. Saudi minister of state for foreign affairs has said that strengthening trade ties and regional security would be priorities.
