Meet RM, the leader of BTS

Kim Namjoon or RM is the leader of sensational K-Pop group BTS.

RM was the first member to join BTS and has been leading since their debut in 2013.

Initially, his stage name was Rap Monster.

The singer had used the stage name since he started rapping in 2012.

In 2015, he released his first solo mixtape, 'RM'.

However, in 2017, Namjoon said that he was officially changing his name to RM as ‘Rap Monster’.

Namjoon said he changed name because it did not align with the music he wanted to create.

The new name RM derives from the lyrics of a song he wrote.

Since 2018 he has lived in Hannam-dong, Seoul, South Korea with his bandmates.
